Q. After we shoot, how long does it take to receive photos?
A. Usually you’ll receive your photos via email within 72 hours after your shoot. From there, if your individual package permits, you will get to choose a predetermined amount of images to choose for editing. Edits typically take about 7 days.
Q. What do you mean by “edits” or “retouch”?
A. Retouching (sometimes referred to as editing or airbrushing) is the digital process of removing skin imperfections, fly away hairs and blemishes. Also teeth whitening, color correction and overall image polishing.
Q. Do you retouch / edit all the images from our photoshoot?
A. No. We retouch a predetermined number of photos depending on your individual package.
Q. Do you deliver every single image you shoot?
A. No. We only deliver images that meet our standard. Test shots, misfires, out of focus, eyes closed, etc. are usually filtered out before final delivery.
Q. What are digital proofs or web sized images?
A. Digital proofs are images that are delivered to you after your photo shoot. These images are “web sized“ which means they are sized at a resolution, suitable for web sharing, email and social media.
Q. What does high resolution mean?
A. High resolution images have a high number of pixels or dots giving the image more clarity and detail. High resolution images are needed for any type of printing or high quality digital displays such as some websites or any image being displayed on a large screen.
Q. Does your studio provide videography services?
A. No. Not at this time.
Q. Can I arrive early to prepare for my shoot?
A. No. Please arrive at your specified time. Due to our schedule, we do not allow early entry.
Q. Do you shoot in JPEG or Raw image format?
A. We generally shoot in JPEG unless specifically requested otherwise by the client.
Q. Do you shoot Birthday Parties, Baby Showers or any other Events?
A. We only shoot corporate events for businesses upon request. We do not shoot personal events such as birthday parties, baby showers or private celebrations.
Q. Do you do kid’s / newborn photo shoots?
A. We do not photograph children under 10 years old.
Q. Does your studio do Family Portraits?
A. Family photoshoots are accepted on a case by case basis. Usually we do not photograph families with children under 10 years old.
Q. I just need one photo / headshot. Do I still have to pay a full package cost?
A. Yes.
Q. Can I bring someone with me to help me change outfits and / or moral support?
A. Yes. Please limit the number of supporters to no more than 5 excluding hair, makeup and wardrobe stylist.
Q. Do you provide hair and makeup services as part of any of your packages?
A. No.
Q. Can I bring my own hair stylist and / or makeup artist and have them do my hair and makeup at your studio before the photoshoot ?
A. Yes. However, additional time is needed on our end so it’s important to let us know during your booking process so we can adjust time as needed. This does not mean arrive early. The time assigned to you is the time to arrive.
Q. What type of camera do you use?
A. We use only Canon full frame digital cameras.
Q. What is licensing?
A. Licensing is a contract in which the photographer grants specific rights to the client who wants to use image(s) for a stipulated amount of time. Licenses are issued for images that will be used for book covers, album covers, product packaging, TV shows / commercials, film, advertising and a number of other situations. Sometimes certain licenses may be an additional cost.
Q. What does “on location” mean?
A. On location refers to anywhere other than our studio. This can be a park, an air bnb, a hotel, your home, a different studio, etc. However, some locations may require additional cost, entry fees, and / or permission. In which case, it is the responsibility of the client to cover these additional cost or obtain necessary permissions before the photoshoot date.
Q. Do you travel?
A. Yes. However, most traveling photoshoot assignments require additional cost. Costs may vary depending on destination.
Q. Do you photograph groups?
A. Yes. But similar to photographing families, we do not shoot groups with children under 10 years old.
Q. What is your rescheduling policy?
A. Rescheduling must be done prior to two days before your scheduled appointment date and time. if rescheduling is requested within two days before your scheduled appointment, payment of balance due is required in order to reschedule. If balance due is not received by your original appointment date, a new deposit will be due for a new photoshoot. Rescheduling is only allowed once.
Q. How long do you keep my photos after the photoshoot is over?
A. We keep photos locally for up to 3 years. After which, they are migrated to an offsite storage facility and may require additional cost for retrieval.
Q. Do I own the copyright to the photos from my shoot?
A. No. we retain all copyright from every photo taken. We do offer licensing or written permission to use photos for your specified needs.
Q. Can you edit / retouch another photographers work?
A. No.
Q. Do you photograph pets / animals?
A. Not specifically but we do understand that pets / animals may be part of your brand aesthetics, in which case we can accommodate.
